Why boycott websites are so important

First, it must be clarified that the creation of boycott websites is only the first step; in subsequent steps, the boycott websites must be made known in the respective countries through social media and other advertising tools.

The goal of boycott websites is to achieve, in large parts of the world, a boycott of Chinese products and thus to limit China’s economic power.

In many countries that are already critical of or hostile to China, like the Philippines, India, Vietnam, Japan, and the USA, Chinese products are still being purchased in large quantities, with billions of dollars involved.

1

Example Indian smartphone market

The India Smartphone Market was valued at US$44.15 billion in 2023, $36 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach US$88.99 billion by 2032.

The Chinese share in 2024 is estimated between 70% to 75%!

So, the Indians, who are hostile to China, bought in one year probably Chinese phones for 25 billion US dollars!

Assuming that, in the long run, it’s possible to convince Indians, through information and offer of alternatives, to sell 20% fewer Chinese phones than in 2024, this would amount to $7.2 billion less revenue annually from the perspective of Chinese companies.

2

Example Philippines smartphone market

The Philippines, where the population is overwhelmingly hostile to China, will buy in 2025 smartphones for US$4.79 billion according to Statista, with an estimated share of 81% !!!!! being phones from Chinese companies.

(Transsion – maker of low-cost phones Infinix, Tecno and Itel – grabbed 37 % of the market, while Realme came a far second, capturing 13 %. Both Vivo and Xiaomi registered a market share of 11 % each, tying for third, while OPPO rounded up the list with 10 %).

So, the Filipinos, who are hostile to China, will probably buy yearly Chinese phones for 3,8 billion US dollars!

Assuming that the Philippines can be persuaded in the long term, through information and by offering alternatives, to buy only 40% of Chinese phones instead of 80%, this would mean an annual drop in sales of approximately $2 billion from the perspective of Chinese companies.

3

In my opinion, there are opportunities for almost all countries bordering the South China Sea, as China claims 90% of the South Sea and attacks all countries bordering it.

If the populations of these countries are provided with information and alternatives, there is also an opportunity to reduce China’s share of the smartphone market.

4

The same approach should be applied to Chinese cars, Chinese air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.

5

With regard to other countries that are pro-China, informational websites should be promoted in parallel with boycott websites.

6

Overall, it can be said that the establishment and promotion of boycott websites could somewhat diminish China’s economic success in the long term.
